@bex_bakesis my AI website good?

@dave_said_itno mate, it's shite.

@pixel_priyarun Unshite My Site on it

Your AI website is probably shite. Here's the fix.

No Shite Sites is a plugin for Claude Code that turns Claude into a web designer. One idea per business, its own type, colour and layout, built and checked on every screen. Not sure yours needs it? Start with the free check.

The problem

You can spot an AI website from across the room.

Claude can build a website. That's the easy bit. Left to its defaults, it builds the same one every time, and your visitors have already seen it a hundred times.

  1. 01

    The default font

One safe sans-serif for everything, so nothing has a voice.

  2. 02

    The indigo button

The same purple-blue that every AI builder reaches for first.

  3. 03

A centred hero with no photo

A headline, two buttons and a pale gradient. Nothing that shows the actual business.

  4. 04

    Rows of identical cards

Icon, heading, two lines. Three across. Then three more.

  5. 05

    "Crafted with passion"

Copy that could belong to any business on earth, so it says nothing about yours.

None of it means the site's broken. It means it looks like every other one, before anyone's read a word about you.

Unshite My Site · free plugin

Get a score out of 100. Then get it fixed.

Unshite My Site checks your site on a desktop and a phone, scores how AI-made it looks, fixes the broken bits straight away, and asks before it touches your design or words.

The bakery demo before: a pale centred headline, Freshly baked goodness, every single day, with an indigo Order now button and a row of identical cards.
50 Before · looks AI-made
CERTIFIED ★ MADE PROPERLY ★ CERTIFIED ★ MADE PROPERLY ★ 100% SHITE-FREE
The same bakery after the fixes: a photo of loaves on the counter by a window, the headline Sourdough out of the oven by seven, and a warm rust-coloured button.
100 After · looks designed

What changed on the bakery

  • The bakery's own counter in the hero, not a pale gradient
  • A menu with prices instead of identical cards
  • Charcoal text and a warm accent instead of indigo
  • A typeface with some character

The bakery is a demo page set up to test the check, not a real business.

What it checks

No Shite Sites · the plugin

Brief in. Designed site out.

Tell it about the business in a few lines. It does the job a designer does before anyone builds anything, then builds it with Claude and checks every screen.

  1. /noshite:design

    Design

Writes the whole design brief: one idea for the business, colours, type, layout, photography, copy and a build plan, in plain English you can read and change.

  2. /noshite:build

    Build

Builds exactly that as a fast Astro site, section by section, checking each one in a browser at desktop and phone size.

  3. /noshite:qa

    Check

Scrolls every screen and fixes what it finds: cut-off text, words lost on photos, broken links. Then it hands you a report.

One idea per business. So no two sites look alike.

It starts from something true about the business, not a template. A barber's steel mill window. A gas engineer's one warm window on a cold street. A café's day told by the clock.

Sites for the same kind of business are made to look different on purpose, so your next café doesn't look like your last. Every build also gets the launch bits AI usually forgets: a 404 page, a privacy page, a sitemap, a share image, a working enquiry form and a map you can scroll past.

# design.md · Slate & Steel
## 2. Creative Direction
The shop's best advert is its window: a tall steel-framed mill window, eight panes of old glass, and behind it two cream-and-chrome chairs. People stop and look in. The site does the same thing.

## 3. Colour Palette
--color-bg #F3EEE5 lime-washed brick
--color-text #33343A window steel
--color-accent #E3AE38 mustard columns
--color-block #3E5566 Welsh slate
From the design brief the plugin wrote for the Slate & Steel barber demo.

No Shite Sites Motion · premium

A website that moves. For a reason.

Every Motion site is planned as a story first: the journey a visitor takes and the one moment they'll remember. Then it builds the motion to fit, and checks it stays fast on phones. These are screen recordings of the real demo sites. Nothing added.

Halo, a sunrise alarm clock: your scroll runs the sunrise from 06:00 to 06:30.

The sunrise is the scroll.

  • Action storiesOne real moment from the business, played by your scroll step by step, with the button on the last step.
  • Exploded product viewsYour product comes apart into labelled parts as you scroll, then clicks back together.
  • Heroes that land in one lookA strong first screen with one gentle move: the headline rising in, a slow push-in or a short loop.
  • Interactive modulesLive prices, before/after sliders, pickers and quick answers that help people decide and book.
  • Motion QAEvery scene checked at start, middle and end, reduced motion respected, smoothness and weight measured.

Motion is opt-in: add "with motion" to a brief, or run /noshite:motion after design or build. Higgsfield is recommended for footage, never required, and the plugin always asks before spending credits.

FAQ

Plain answers.

@bex_bakesran it. 50, then 100. cheers dave

What's Claude Code?

Anthropic's tool for building with Claude. It comes with paid Claude plans and runs in the Claude desktop app, in a terminal or in your code editor. No Shite Sites is a plugin for it: new commands that teach Claude to design before it builds.

Do I need to code?

No. You write a few lines about the business, it writes the design brief in plain English, and Claude writes the code. An included guide walks you through going live. If you do code, the output is a normal Astro project you can take further.

Can I use it for client work?

Yes. The licence covers your own sites and your clients' sites, with no per-site or per-client fees. You just can't resell or share the plugin files themselves.

What if it doesn't work for me?

Reply to your Gumroad receipt within 14 days and I'll help you get it running. If I can't, you get a full refund.

Will it replace me as a designer?

No. It does the groundwork a good designer does before building, and writes it all down. You set the direction in the brief, change anything you like in the design brief, and sign off the build. Your taste stays in charge.

Isn't Claude's free design skill enough?

It makes clean, complete pages, and it's free. In my side-by-side test on the same café brief, the free skill scored 88 on phone speed and No Shite Sites scored 99, and only No Shite Sites shipped the 404, privacy page, sitemap and a check that fixes its own mistakes. One designer's blind judgement, not a lab test.

Will all my clients' sites look the same?

That's the exact problem it was made to fix. Each design starts from one idea about the business, with its own palette, type and photography. Every demo on this page came from the same plugin.

Where do the photos come from?

Claude can make them if you connect an image tool like Higgsfield. Otherwise the design brief gives you a ready prompt for every image. Use your client's real photos where you can, and always for real people and premises.

Does it make up reviews?

Only on demo sites, and every invented detail is marked so you can find it. For real businesses, reviews, ratings and qualifications are left as clearly marked placeholders.

Which Claude model should I use?

Opus 5.5 on medium effort gives the best results for both designing and building.

Who's behind it?

A UK web designer who got sick of AI websites that all look the same. That's all you're getting. The work's on this page.

Make the next one not shite.
